W. Ponder
started painting with his father and has been painting
professionally since the 1970's. He spent four years in Australia developing the
palette knife technique. His early paintings included an impressionistic flower
series and representational paintings, especially landscapes. During the 1990's
his style became more expressionistic, and included a cityscape at night series.
He lives in Eastbourne, Wellington, and is
the brother of artist Michael Ponder, Blenheim.
