Terms
of Sale
Prices
are in New Zealand dollars.
We require pre-payment of all purchases.. * We try to keep our prices competitive and will beat the listed price of any other New Zealand internet bookseller by 10%. (Note: Publisher, date of publication and condition of the book must be the same or similar in both cases.)
Books ordered will
be held for ten calendar days pending receipt of payment.
Payment can be made by sending: credit card details (Visa
or Mastercard only, please), via
fax or mail. Payment can also be made by sending a personal or bank cheque or paying by direct bank deposit.
Orders paid in New Zealand by personal cheque will be held pending fund clearance (five working days) but those paid by credit card or cash will be shipped immediately. Payments made by direct deposit will be shipped when deposit is cleared.
Books will be sent
within New Zealand by PacketPost or ParcelPost and shipping and handling charges
added to the price. The postage of a standard-sized book is usually NZ$4.00,
and the handling charge NZ$1.50, but the costs can vary according to the size,
number and value of the books and the materials taken to package them. Please
email for a quote. (Note: Both services include compensation for loss up to NZ$250.)
International orders
will be shipped airmail - 'express' airmail (arrives within days but is the most
expensive), 'air' airmail (arrives in about a week) or 'economy' airmail (arrives
in about three weks.) The last is the least expensive and will be used for that
reason unless the buyer specifies otherwise. Please note, however, that we despatch
books by international express airmail only in those cases where the cost of postage
does not exceed the value of the book, unless the purchaser is an institution
or a person known to us. Each service includes compensation for loss or damage,
up to NZ$2000 in the first case, and NZ$250 in the last two cases, with an option
to buy more cover. (*Please see note on air mail rates below.) We add a handling
charge of NZ$2.50 for a 'standard'-sized book and multiples of this for a parcel
of several books, but vary this according to the size and value of the books and
the time and materials taken to package them and to prepare documentation. Please
email for a quote.
Kowhai Gold Books will not be held responsible for any shipment that is lost or
damaged in transit.
We try to describe our books fully and carefully but any book found to differ
substantially from our description can be returned for a full refund, including
return postage, if postmarked within ten days of receipt of order. We expect to
be told you wish to return it prior to your doing so and will only accept returns
if they are received in the same condition they were in when they were sent. Parcels
sent outside New Zealand will bear a complete, accurate, and honest Customs form.
We will not mis-state or falsify the value, description, or type of merchandise
in order to assist in the evasion of Customs duties.
Kowhai Gold Books is committed to honouring the privacy of customers. We will
not provide any information about you to any other person or organisation. Any
credit card details will be deleted from our files once your payment has been
processed. Our site does

* A note on air mail rates from New
Zealand
We advise our international customers to ask for a quote before buying a book
because postal charges can double the cost of a large volume, or of several books
purchased together, which could come as an unwelcome surprise.
We try
to contain costs by despatching our books by international economy airmail, unless
requested otherwise, as it is the least expensive delivery option, although the
time taken for internal delivery within a country can mean it takes up to four
weeks for your book to reach you.
